Yakutian film Nuuccha receives its premier at Tallinn Film Festival

Nuuccha, a film by Yakutian director Vladimir Munkuev, was shown as part of the Current Waves program at the 25th annual Film Festival in Tallinn. The program includes 48 films from all over the world that have already won awards at other well-known festivals, and which are of interest to a wide audience.

Nuuccha is a psychological drama based on the works of the Polish writer and ethnographer Wacław Sieroszewski. Sergei Gilev plays the role of Konstantin, a Russian convict who is taken in by Habji and Keremes. The film's producers are Boris Khlebnikov, Aleksander Plotnikov, Evgeniy Nikishov, Valeriy Fedorovich, Albert Ryabishev, and Andrey Ushatskiy. The film's director, Vladimir Munkuev, won Best Director at Kinotavr-2021 in Sochi, and his film won the East of West Award at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. 

The film was screened at the Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event in Tallinn, winning the Post Production Awards category of the Work in Progress Awards, which go to projects with a particularly powerful and daring artistic vision that successfully combine creative and commercial potential.
