Premiere of Trailer for Capitan Volkonogov escaped

We're proud to present the trailer for the new film by Natasha Merkulova and Aleksey Chupov, Captain Volkonogov Escaped, which will be released on April 7, 2022. ***
The world premiere of Captain Volkonogov Escaped took place as part of the main competition of the 78th Venice Film Festival. It is the only Russian picture screened as part of the main competition in 2021.
The film was also presented as part of the main competition at Kinotavr, where it won the prize for Best Screenplay and the Kinopoisk Audience Award.
Its North American premiere took place on October 15th. Sergey Fevralev, the production designer for the film, won a prize at the Chicago International Film Festival.
Also on October 15th, the film won an award at the annual film festival in El Gouna, taking the bronze in the main competition and the NETPAC jury award.
It was awarded Best Narrative Feature at the 30th Anniversary Film Festival in Philadelphia, the first Russian film to win in the history of the festival.
Natasha Merkulova was awarded CIMA Prize for the Best Feature Film Directed by a Woman at the Gijón International Film Festival in Spain.
On December 17th, the film won the Grand Prize at the Les Arcs European Film Festival in France.
It was awarded three Golden Unicorns in London, for Best Film, Best Screenplay and Best Actor (Yuriy Borisov).
